Statement on Biden Administration’s new, relaxed travel restrictions for vaccinated foreign passengers

Travel Tech President Steve Shur releases statement on the Biden Administration’s new, relaxed travel restrictions for vaccinated foreign passengers:

Travel Technology Association Statement on Biden Administration’s new, relaxed travel restrictions for vaccinated foreign passengers:

“Today, the Biden administration announced a new travel policy for vaccinated foreign travelers.  Effective this November, international passengers who are fully vaccinated against Covid-19 will be able to travel to the US.

“The Travel Technology Association applauds the Biden Administration for taking action and laying out a clear roadmap. This is exactly what Travel Tech has been advocating for — a science-based approach to reopening international travel, shifting from country assessments to individual risk assessments.

“Every week that travel bans remain in place for the U.K., E.U. and Canada, our economy loses $1.5 billion in spending, which would support 10,000 American jobs, according to the US Travel Association. With the announced timeline, travelers should be able to book tickets for the holidays. The world is eager to begin traveling again, and this new guidance is a welcome step towards the recovery of the travel and tourism industry and the broader U.S. economy.”
