“The Travel Technology Association commends President Biden for implementing standards for mask wearing while traveling and acknowledging that safe and responsible travel is possible when taking the right precautions.
“Throughout the pandemic, Travel Tech’s members have supported travel and technology stakeholders working to implement comprehensive safety measures to protect the travel workforce and traveling public. This is an unprecedented challenge for our industry and the mask requirement is just one of a long list of measures that will help to increase confidence in traveling again.
“The travel and tourism industry is one of the largest industries in the nation – averaging $3.1 billion a day in direct spending and supporting 1 in 10 jobs in 2019 – and was one of the industries hardest hit by COVID-19.
“This is an important step toward revitalizing the American economy and protecting millions of travelers and workers across the country.”
